Cameron, WI; November, 2004 - Over
the last three weeks, 20 students from the Cameron eighth
grade class joined together to help hurricane victims in Alabama,
Mississippi and Florida by organizing a food drive in their
community. Although food drives are challenging because of
the problems with shipping food, Wise Way Motor Freight out
of Hudson allowed the students to ship their collections down
to the FEMA warehouse in Mobile, Ala., with Chuck Bier, an
employee of Wise Way and a parent of one of the student volunteers.
The students collected, sorted and boxed nearly 30 boxes of
non-perishable food items, baby food and water.
