Introduction to Wiseway
Our operation began in 1988 with a
simple goal, to become the predominant carrier to the
new furniture industry in the upper Midwest area. Today,
Wiseway Transportation Services, Inc. is a nationally
recognized carrier specializing in the transportation
of new furniture from the Southeast, South and the Midwest
to our distribution facility in Hudson, Wisconsin. Our
road units are repositioned into those areas with truckload
general commodity freight from the Hudson area.
During the past several years we have
developed a relationship and trust level with our customers
second to none. We have accomplished this through continued
communication, continual upgrading of equipment, dedicated
and professional staff, and goal oriented service. Each
member of our team recognizes that we are customer-driven
and that we have but one product to offer our customers
. . . service.
We are dedicated to the betterment
of our employees, their families and the communities
in which we live and serve. The continued creation of
jobs by our company has a positive impact on our local
economy and business climate. We are committed to the
controlled growth and expansion of our company.
We believe the only way to provide superior service
is to employ talented and customer-oriented people.
Everyone hired by Wiseway is aware of our strong commitment
to the customer and is given the information and training
to do their job with a customer-driven approach. Our
drivers are the heart of our operation, and Wiseway
utilizes a rigid screening process in hiring drivers
with customer-friendly attitudes.
At Wiseway, there is a family type
spirit. We strive to make our company a great place
to work, emphasize employee wellness, safety, training,
information sharing and recognition. We feel these efforts
impact every employee's ability to better serve the
customer.
Our employees are extensions of the
entire company. Potential members of our group are expected
to have and maintain the same level of integrity, ethics
and
values as those presently representing Wiseway.
Being "Customer-Driven" is what differentiates
Wiseway in the transportation industry, and it is a
commitment we do not take lightly. To make sure we understand
our customers' needs and make continuous improvements
in service, Wiseway routinely measures performance and
solicits customer feedback. We conduct annual customer
surveys with furniture dealers and manufacturers, leave
feedback cards with deliveries and encourage direct
calls from customers to Wiseway's senior management.
Our truckload drivers are generally on the road for
five-six days at a time and spend two to three days
at home between each dispatch if they desire. We believe
that quality time at home is a key to being the best
in our business.
Approximately 70% of our freight is
pre-loaded, 60-70% is drop and hook, and 10% is driver-assist
in unloading or counting.
The majority of our power units
are 2001 and newer Freightliner conventional stand-up
condos. Our trailer fleet contains all 53' dry vans,
which are air-ride equipped.
